State of Decay 3, the upcoming zombie survival game from Undead Labs, has got fans excited for its release. While the game is still in its pre-production stages, fans are eagerly waiting for more updates on the game’s development.
In this article, we will give you the latest news and rumors about State of Decay 3, including the release date, trailer, and other details.
State of Decay 3 Release Date
As of now, there is no official release date for State of Decay 3. The game is still in the pre-production phase, and according to reports, there were some issues during the development process. Kotaku’s 2022 report outlined allegations of burnout, mismanagement, and misogyny at Undead Labs, which could have caused the game’s delay.
Release date
Excitement for the upcoming sequel, State of Decay 3, is at an all-time high, but there’s still no official word on when it will be released.
The cinematic announcement trailer was unveiled during the Xbox Games Showcase event in July 2020, but it’s still in the early stages of development.
There have been reports that Undead Labs, the game’s developer, was pressured into revealing the trailer before they were ready to do so.
Regrettably, Undead Labs has yet to provide any new information or updates regarding State of Decay 3.
it was not even referenced during the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase 2022.
However, fans can still enjoy regular updates for State of Decay 2, which was released in 2018. State of Decay 3 is likely still in pre-production, and there may be internal management issues affecting its development. Despite this, fans are eagerly anticipating any news about the game and are hopeful for its eventual release.
Trailer
The trailer showcases a tough female survivor in a frigid and dangerous wilderness, which fans speculate could be located in Alaska, Colorado, Wyoming, or Canada.
As she sharpens her wooden bolts beside a campfire, she hears a noise from the surrounding forest. Suddenly, she is confronted by piercing white eyes staring at her from the darkness. But instead of cowering in fear, she screams at the creature, seemingly to intimidate it, and it works!
The threat scurries away, leaving us all wondering what it could be. In previous State of Decay games, making noise attracts zombies, so this new development raises even more questions.
Later in the trailer, the survivor discovers a trail of blood in the snow and sets out to investigate. She comes across a wolf carcass being devoured by what appears to be a zombified deer.
The deer’s right side of the face is torn open and rotting, and it lets out a bone-chilling shriek before the trailer ends.
As if zombies weren’t enough, now we must face zombie animals!
But fear not, as we hope to see significant upgrades to the weaponry in the game, starting with the simple crossbow showcased in the trailer.
We can’t wait to see what other surprises State of Decay 3 has in store for us!
State of Decay 3: What to Expect
State of Decay 3 is expected to continue the survival-horror, action-adventure, strategy, and role-playing elements of the series. The game will take place in a post-apocalyptic world where players must rebuild civilization while fighting off hordes of zombies. Expect improved storyline, mechanics, and graphics from previous State of Decay games.
State of Decay 2 Updates
Undead Labs has been supporting State of Decay 2 with regular updates since its release in 2018. The game has received several content updates and bug fixes, which have improved the overall gameplay experience.
Platforms
Being published by Xbox Game Studios, State of Decay 3 will be available on the Xbox Series X, Series S, and PC.
It’s unlikely that the game will be released during a timeframe when new games are still being featured on last-generation consoles.
Our first and only look at State of Decay 3 is the cinematic announcement released by Microsoft in July 2020. While there aren’t any plot or gameplay details in the trailer, there’s still a bit to unpack.
Gameplay
This amazing game will have players controlling a community of survivors looking for supplies, other survivors to recruit.
Fans are anticipating improvements to the base-building system, more character development, and better customization options for weapons, cars, clothes, and more.
In the previous game, characters had background stories and quirky one-liners, but there was minimal character development or bonding.
The remaining survivors would return to business as usual after being upset for a day or so if a member of the community died.
State of Decay 3 will feature a wilderness setting, potentially with weather elements, and will be developed in Unreal Engine 5.
This means that the game will feature stunning visuals when it releases. The game may have more cinematic cutscenes, as Undead Labs is working with other XGS teams on animation.
Multiplayer
State of Decay 2 had multiplayer options, including the ability to join a friend’s game and invite others to play through the in-game radio.
Cross-platform play was also enabled between Xbox and PC players.
Fans hope State of Decay 3 will have truly shared servers for building up communities with friends at any time.
The previous game’s tethering system had some limitations, including black-screening if a player strayed too far from the host. However, it allowed for cooperative exploration and easy getaways from zombie hordes.
With improved multiplayer and graphics, State of Decay 3 promises to be an even better experience for players.
DLC
State of Decay 2 offered multiple DLCs that added new weapons, vehicles, outfits, and facility mods to the game, providing exciting variations.
The final DLC, Heartland, brought players back to Trumbull Valley for a story-based game mode.
Heartland DLC introduced two sets of starting characters searching for their loved ones, the largest base site, and explained the blood plague’s origins.
State of Decay 3 will have its own DLCs, and fans are curious if any will revisit previous settings.
