The Foundry Nuke, how to fix error – QuickTime install could not be detected.
This means that Nuke could not find the path of the QuickTime installation folder with executable files.
The simple way to fix this error is by adding the path to the folder where is QuickTime installed.
First, you need to download the latest version of QuickTime from the official website – Download Here.
Once you have downloaded and installed QuickTime, follow these steps to add the path to the QuickTime installation folder:
First way:
- Open the Start menu and search for “Environment Variables” and click on “Edit the system environment variables.”
- In the System Properties window, click on the “Environment Variables” button.
Open Advanced system settings – Environment Variable as shown on the screenshot.
Under “System Variables” click “New” and enter (in my case) Variable Name – QuickTime
and Variable value – C:Program Files (x86)QuickTime
(This is the path to the folder where is QuickTime installed). Click “OK” to close all the windows and save the changes.
Restart Nuke and the error message should be resolved.
The second way: (No longer needed if you used the First one)
- Under “System Variables“, scroll down and find the “Path” variable, then click on “Edit.“
- Click “New” and add the path to the QuickTime installation folder. The default installation path for QuickTime is “C:Program Files (x86)QuickTime“, but if you installed it somewhere else, use the appropriate path for your system.
Click OK.
After you have added the path to the QuickTime installation folder, restart Nuke and the error message should be resolved.
